Chris Cornell’s 3rd Solo Album To Be Released October 14th
September 4, 2008 by Amy Mahlum
On October 14th, Chris Cornell will try to prove that the third time is a charm with the release of his third solo album, Scream. Cornell fronted the band Soundgarden, a pioneering group in the grunge scene, until they broke up in 1996. In 1997, he went on to front Audioslave with former members of Rage Against the Machine until the band broke up in 2007.
His first solo album, Euphoria Morning, was released in September of 1999 and his second, Carry On, came out in June of 2007 with mixed success. His third album features production by urban producer Timbaland, known for his work with Justin Timberlake, Aaliyah, and Nelly Fertado. This is a move that has made long-time fans of Cornell, particularly in his earlier, hardcore years, meet the release with hesitation.
You can check out “Long Gone”, “Watch Out”, and “Ground Zero” from Scream on his Myspace page at www.myspace.com/chriscornell
