Pearl Jam Wraps Up Their Summer 2008 Tour

As soon as I entered the Comcast Center parking lot, two men dressed up in cow suits approached us with applications to register to vote, stating the band was encouraging everyone to sign up to vote for the 2008 election. Less Than Jake - City of Gainesville

After years of struggling to get mainstream recognition and the opportunity to sign with a record label, SKA band Less Than Jake severed their relationship with Sire Records and Warner Brothers, by asking for and being granted their release from the label on March 21, 2007. Less Than Jake in turn started their independent label Sleep It Off (which is named after their song Sleep it off from the B-side of the 2004 album B is for B-sides) and put out City of Gainesville on June 24, 2008, which is also the birthday of lead vocalist and guitarist Chris Demakes.
